Honey and I went to Sam’s on Friday to buy mass quantities of food to consume. We bought some ground turkey to make hamburgers on the grill. I suppose I should say turkey burgers, but hamburgers aren’t made of ham, so what would be the point?
While doing all of the planting yesterday, I kept hearing lots of cheeping whenever I walked up the steps to the deck. I kept looking around to see where the nest might be. Wasn’t seeing one. I remembered this noise from a couple of years ago when a Mama robin set up homesteading in one of my old dried up hanging baskets. She had a fit whenever I opened the door wall and flew away, leaving the babies for us to look at. We marveled at how quickly they grew and were out of the nest.
Finally I saw the Mama bird making her exit. She squeezed out of a hole in the barbeque. And then I noticed all of the hay scattered underneath. So I ever so gently raised the lid to have a little look-see
Mousey helped me get the picture. They are loud little babies. And that was one BUSY Mama! There is enough hay in there to make a scarecrow!
So no grilled anything until this Mama has her family raised and gone.
