Let me state this for the record. I am not a chocoholic. I know many who are, bless their hearts. But I am not one of them. I like to say that I am an equal opportunity dessert eater. It’s all good.
Since I have a love/hate relationship with the low-carb lifestyle, sugar can either “be in, or your out” (said with a lovely Heide Klum accent) at any given time.
But lately, I have had a hankering for a little schnibble of somethin’. And chocolate has fit the bill nicely. I think it’s because it can come in little itty bitty pieces. I like that kind of portion control. And REALLY, I only want a schnibble!
I don’t particularly care for the sugar free chocolate. Or it doesn’t really care for me. Sugar alcohols are not my friend.
I brought home some little candies, leftover from a small group lunch that I did at church. They were Snickers Dark. I had two at the lunch and liked them a lot. I never saw them again. I accused Honey. Cause he has been known to eat treats in the past. He said it wasn’t him. Turns out The Boy was the culprit that time.
I then ventured to CVS to get something and saw that they had MUCH chocolate to choose from. Isles and endcaps and racks of chocolate. How do you know which type to choose? I had heard that dark was the superior choice. I bought a selection.
Good
Great
Nasty crap.
It was AWFUL ! I don’t know how they decide the percentages, but that was definitely TOO MUCH chocolate. Or totally not enough sugar. Or SOMETHING! Aaack, cough, spit it out.
Then I made Honey try it, just to be sure. Yep, it was grosse.
The good stuff is now hidden. Honey told me to. Because he doesn’t want just a schnibble. He’s an all or nothing kind of guy.

Costco has these pomegranite ice cream bonbons. The chocolate coating is sooo good. They are only 50 calories each too. Yummy! I keep my little stash in the basement freezer, they haven’t been discovered yet…shhhhh.
