His Own Personal Catnip

Honey works at night. And when he comes home in the early morning, he likes to eat a little something. Sometimes it’s toast, or chips and salsa, or hummas. The last two he makes by the way, and they are AWESOME.

The Boy and I are trying to talk him in to marketing the stuff. Mainly because it would provide employment AND snacks for our entire family, for the rest of our lives.

Honey would be the maker, and I his helper, just like all of our endeavors in the kitchen. The Ab-Cat would handle the books and finances, cause she is good with that sort of thing. Mousey would be the artist and design all of the things that need designing. And The Boy would be the salesman. Because he is a talker. He likes to negotiate.

I know, He wears me out.

We are thinking  about what to name this enterprise. That’s how close  we are to this actually happening.

Anyway, back to Honey’s snacking. Lately, these have been the snack of choice.

I get them from Sam’s. They REALLY are scrumtrulescent . Made with peanuts and almonds, hardly any sugar. 9 grams of carb, 2 grams of fiber for 8  cubes of yummy, nutty schnibbles. I used the Tupperware cereal bowl as a measuring comparison. Cause who doesn’t have one of those? Well, at least everyone has seen one.

I have NO problem with this being Honey’s personal catnip. It’s a superior choice to some of his snacking. This was what he brought home this morning.

I asked him if he had a hankering. He said for two days.

And he so graciously  brought me this.

Which he used to thoughtfully  bring me, regularly, from Tim Hortons when we lived in Windsor, Ontario. There was one right down the road. It was easier on me then because, well, I was a heck of a lot younger and my metabolism was pretty good. Plus, I had to share it with our cat Izzie. That helped a LOT.

So thanks Honey. For dragging me into your sick little craving. Because his philosophy has always  been “we’re married, we do everything together”. I guess that includes being fluffy together.

Oh….(light dawning)…so you don’t just stick your hand down in the bag and assume each handful is a serving. Hmmmmm… I guess this is what they mean by “portion control.” No wonder you are so long & lean!

Those look SO good! If they were in my house, my hand probably wouldn’t leave that bag for some time…

guilt is best shared by two. it lets the calories divide and conquer instead of going after just one person. therefore they do less damage!! thats my story and i am sticking to it.
