Mrs. Schmenkman is an accomplished gardener. Not just her yard, she works at an estate that used to be owned by a world reknowned sculpter and his wife. She has quite a free reign on what she can do.
But, this is her yard. Every little thing is loverly and inspiring to look at. After my visit there, I mostly feel like I need to come home and get to work. I just loved the colors this year. Plus, who doesn’t just adore a pansy?
She has a lot of peonies and irises. Did you know that some peonies smell delicious, and some smell horrid? Pink, good. White, don’t do it.
