I have lost my voice. Tragic, I know.
I lost it on the 4th of July, and it really hasn’t returned. My family thinks it’s hilarious. They told me to just whisper instead of talking. Surprisingly, it works!
We had a very nice 4th of July out at my Parents house on the lake. We capped off the evening with a fireworks display out on the boat. This is a big deal in their community. It is usually a great display, but for the last couple of years, it has been a tad bit disappointing. This year, like last year, there was such a long lull that everyone started leaving. Only to have it start up again. But, when boats are already heading back in, you can’t just stop and drop anchor again. For some reason there were also a ton of duds this year.
But when the fireworks were going off and up in the sky, it was awesome!
Back at the house, we had a yummy dinner and played a few games.
We introduced LMNOP to our family game of Peanuts. I fear we have created a monster. She started out slow, then turned into a total shark!
She said she wants to play it whenever she comes over. I have a feeling there will be many card games in our summer.
Some photo’s from the day.

Mousey, LMNOP, and The Boy

Honey, Capri Kel, and The Ab-Cat with the recouperating Katie. She loves a boat ride.

The Grandpa and The Grandma, with Beeve, Stacey and Goomba.

Mousey’s work.
Honey and I finished the second disc of the John Adams mini series. It seemed very appropriate to watch it on the July 4th weekend. I’m not sure if there is one or two more discs to go.
The Ab-Cat and I had the extreme misfortune to watch “Mama Mia” last night. I can’t think of a time when I have liked a movie less. I was mortified for everyone in the unfortunate cast. The singing, the dancing, the acting? Wretched. Simply horrid.
That’s all for today. I must go cough now.

Finally, someone who agrees with me on Mama Mia! It was so cheesy.
That sounds like where I live! We were out on the lake, waiting… waiting… for the display to start. It’s always a stellar show. We had light rain, and there was lightning off in the distance. Still, security had told us they would proceed. Forty-five minutes later we were cold and wet, and tired of waiting. So we headed for home. And once we got about 200 feet from our dock, they started the show! Pfft. It was ridiculous.
