I found this picture when I was looking for the old, hideous church directory photo. It was laying on the desk next to the computer. The Boy walked in, looked at it, and laughed. He said ” Bill Cosby called and he wants his sweaters back”. They really are bad, are they not? You can’t really tell, but my hair was styled in a fashionable 80’s asymmetrical do, while Honey is looking especially sporty in his mullet. And I don’t know why his eyes are not all the way open. Maybe that is the way he looked in 1986. But as you can see, they are BOTH looking in the same direction!!

I don’t do too much with the computer. Now that Ab-Cat is taking on-line college courses, I get to do less. And I am usually O.K. with that. So long as I get to check my e-mail and play Penguin ( a ridiculously addicting little card game) during lunch , I am usually fine. Oh, and I have that little bitty problem with Jewel Quest. And Mrs. Schmenkman and I do chat frequently on the webcam, but that is usually very early in the morning , therefore it causes no problem for any of my crew. Who are not up early.
During the past year or so I had the First Born set me up a MySpace. Mainly so I could check out my childrens MySpace’s. I never really did much with it and probably have 4 comments , one from each of my children and one from Mrs. Schmenkman. I then discovered I could surf around and go to other peoples MySpace. And then I discovered that I can visit a COMPLETE STRANGERS site! Fancy that! Well, then , after Christmas I was a little bored and googled a topic I like and I discovered actual blogs devoted to such topics, and other topics! And then from those sites, you can leap to others that you might like even better! And so on and so on until I was checking some sites daily to be entertained by people that I would not be able to pick out of a line-up! I would read the posts and enjoy them thoroughly, but I never felt the need to comment. Never even considered doing so. That seemed weird. No one ever knew I was there. I had at one time mentioned this to my SIL and she told me there was a name for people like me; Lurkers. And that is totally what I am.
So now I have my own blog. And there is a feature that tells me how many hits there have been on the site each day. Today it said there were 68. Now, that cannot be the five people, that I know actually read the thing daily, checking over and over, breathlessly waiting for my next post! I believe I mentioned in a previous post that I need to check my site several times a day, just to see if there are any comments. And there usually aren’t many. Wouldn’t you know it? All Lurkers!

I am the only person who does NOT drink coffee at our house. I have chosen as my favorite drink this, as of late , ridiculously hard to come by , scrumtrulescent drink. We have only been able to find it at TJ Maxx, Home Goods or Marshalls. It has been particularly hard to come by the last year or so. So in other words, as my addiction increased, the scarcity increased! Usually Capri Deb & Capri Patt have better luck than I in finding it, but lately there hasn’t been much luck at all. Until last week!!! Capri Deb had a MAJOR SCORE!!! Combined with a few bottles that Capri Patt found just before heading down to her winter home, I now have a total of 15 YES 15 bottles of liquid gold in my pantry! Thank you Girls, I am so happy!!! Hey Mrs. Schmenkman, care to join me for a cup of Chai tomorrow a.m. on the webcam???

I just asked The Boy what I should say and he asked me “why would you want a blog if you don’t know what to say???” Thanks to The Girl for helping me get this up and running. That would be one thing my friends could tell you about me; I am computer illiterate. Surely I will get better as I go!
I’m not quite sure why I wanted to start this, but hopefully it will be a way for me to keep in better touch with those I want to be in better touch with, and be able to share what I am doing, making, bargains found and very random thoughts! Let the blogging begin!
