Just Happened To is God’s Middle Name

You know how when you are young, and you need a job, and your parents tell you you’d better get out there and put some applications in, because no one is going to call you and offer you a job? Do you remember that? Well I sure do.

And I am here to tell you that is not always the case. It has happened to Abby.

When Honey and I were in Florida last fall, the coil of our garage door broke. I just happened to be texting with Jip the Farm Dog, so I mentioned The Girls couldn’t get Abby’s van out of the garage. You can read the whole story here , if you would care to. It’s a good one. Jip’s husband, Mr. Jaw Dog, as he likes to call himself, just happened to be home and they came over to rescue The Girls. To our eternal thanks, I might add.

That would have been a good enough story all on it’s own, but WAIT, there’s more!

That was the first time Mr. Jaw Dog met The Girls. The End. But wait for it…

About five months later, he called and asked if Abby might be interested in an internship with his company. HE CALLED OUR HOUSE. I know, it flies in the face of everything your parents said would never happen!!!!!!!

Abby met him where he works and he took her on a tour of the building. Mr. Jaw Dog texted Jip that he thought he might be more nervous than Abby was. Jip texted back that Honey and I were more nervous than both of them! I think she was right! Honey and I were a big ball of knots!

Abby starts her internship this morning. 40 hours a week of working, helping and learning how to be a good coworker in a new situation. We are praying she does well in the job that just happened to come her way. She has never worked in an office environment before, I’m sure she has much to learn.

One of the verses we have prayed for Abby over the years is Jeremiah 29:11.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

It would appear that God Just Happened To have plans for our Girl.

You never know what He can do with a broken garage door coil.

Thank you Jon. And I suspect, thanks Jip. And I know, thanks God.

Oh what a story of friendship and God’s love and care. I love when God works His mysterious ways and allowed Jip and Jaw to be part of His plan for your girl. Congratulations to her!!!
