What Doing This Weekend

Saturday was the best weather day of the whole week. No rain, nice breeze, moderate heat, and low humidity. A perfect day for Button and Keelyody’s twin boy’s graduation parties. AND work.

The Boy cut the grass and fertilized things.

Mousey and I weeded the hedge and various other areas. Large, picker-y, thistle-y, beasts from H-E double hockey sticks.

Honey rearranged the playhouse/shed.

We then all set our sites on the newest area consuming our time. The area known as “Where The Arborvitae Used To Be”.

The Boy hacked off the rest of the spirea, then he and Honey raked the decade of arborvitae leaves up and disposed of them. All so Mousey and I could begin removing the landscaping rocks. All things to be gone so we can get us some C-ment back there, by the C-ment pond!

We are back to being rock haulers. We have a union and everything.

027

Since we are experienced rock haulers, I will tell you how we have found is the best way to haul.

The tools of the trade.

Cat litter containers. A good weight to lift after scooping the rocks, not too heavy.

Old, mismatched, gloves work better than work gloves. They fit better to use your hand as a sweeper/shovel.

Dust pans, to receive the sweeped/shoveled rocks. Spell check is telling me sweeped is not a word. Why isn’t it? Oh, it’s swept, isn’t it?

 006

It is a great way to use up mismatched children’s gloves that have accumulated over the years. Of which Mousey has a plethora. Hi Power Puff Girls!

008

Did you know it is a sure thing if you throw out a glove with no mate, you will find the mate exactly 1 week later? I have experienced this phenomenon on many occasions, hence the extensive 1 glove collection. I even found a matched pair while going through the collection!! That doesn’t happen every day, you know!

Little did I know how handy they would come in, 1-10 years later! Because, you know, they don’t last forever in the rock hauling business.

004

We are adding to our existing pile.

005

Our pile is growing.

Oh, our aching backs and legs.

I had better lose some weight doing this or I might WHINE.

Kelly! Goodness, I didn’t realize until I read all your stuffs how I’ve missed you. Sounds like all is well if not the same-ish around the Capri parts.

    Thinking of you!

And you are allowed to whine a bit if you don’t lose weight!

You dare not move those rocks…they look like a modern art installation!
