Sand and Stuff

We went to the 2011 American Sand Sculpting Competition on Fort Myers Beach yesterday. We thought the weather might not cooperate, but it shaped up and we shipped out.

Before we left, The Boys shared the one fish they brought home from their fitchin’ expedition. Honey had to improvise with the breading. His had crushed almonds, The Boy’s sported crushed potato chips. I had yogurt. No fish.001

The Boy was not excited about this field trip, because he is not a fan of the beach. Primarily, not a fan of sand. He says it gets all up in your parts.

We tried to tell him the sand was very hard, like a road. I think he was pleasantly surprised.

Seasons Greetings and a snowman, in sand. Very odd to see.

They had a big tribute to our troops.

Semper Fi, for Beeve and Uncle Bob.

Me and my boyfriend.

The Amazin’ Walter. It was on his hat and his apron. He has friends with skillz.

Because it was early in the second day, nothing was anywhere near completed. It was interesting watching them work each level, taking off the wooden forms that made up the platforms.

We walked around the tents where people were selling their wares. Nothing appealed to us except for a bag of kettle corn. It was yummy!

I am happy to say that The Boy’s parts remained sand free. Whew! It was probably his best beach experience ever. At least since he was a little Boy.

Happy 26th anniversary to us! Thanks for taking me to Florida, Honey!

After the sand business, we were hungry. The Boy treated us to lunch at Perkins, where we all had chicken pot pie. Honey and I have had the pleasure and The Boy was the newbie. It is scrumtrulescent! He agreed it was good.

Honey requires a lot of lemons. In his water, on his salad.

Two new things under his belt. A pleasurable sand outing and chicken pot pie at Perkins!

Goof. Thanks for lunch, Buddy!

Loved the sculptures! Better than ice sculptures thats for sure. I see you are wearing one of your new tops. Looks nice. By now, I am thinking you are home; sporting that lovely tan.
