A Prayer Request

This is one of those times when blogging seems inappropriate.

Our CareGroup friend, Jan, went into the hospital in September for a donor stem cell transplant for her multiple myeloma. She went in with a very positive attitude and a strong faith that God was her co-pilot. Except for a brief stay with her brother the week of Thanksgiving, she has been down at Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit. She has struggled to recover and endured complications that can come with chemo and transplants. She is so very tired and weak. Last week she had a full body scan and it revealed that her cancer is back. She has entered hospice and is returning to her brother’s home where she will be more comfortable.

This was a picture from our Birthday Club in September. Jan is on the top right.

December 7 was Jan’s birthday and several of us were able to take Birthday Club down to her at the hospital. She is 60 years old.

Please join us in praying for her and her two sons.

So sorry to read about your friend, Jan. She will be in my prayers. Please pray for MY friend, Jan. Her mama just had hip surgery and she was doing well. Unfortunately the hip surgery greatly accelerated her leukemia-type blood condition to where her white blood cells are multiplying at a crazy level. If her mom passes, it will be a terrible time of year.
    I’m praying for both Jans.

So hard for us to here that news. i’ve been praying everyday for God’s peace for her and for her boys. She is very young to be losing this battle. But we know the battle is the Lord’s battle.

O how I hate the words Multiple Myeloma. My very dear friend fought a 6 month battle and died at the age of 36 just 3 years ago. She left a husband and two little girls, age 5 and just under 2……how I miss her!! I will certainly pray for Jan and those who love her day and night!!
