Melted Mouse

I had plans to post earlier, but no sooner had Mousey caught the bus to school when she called to say she needed to be picked up.

She has been experiencing some stress due to her heavy school and homework schedule, combined with her lacrosse schedule, which will not be ignored. Then there were the girls in front of her on the bus that smelled of unwashed potatoes and morning breath.

All that to say, we had ourselves a mini Mouse meltdown. It required some talking, some listening, some deep breaths, Keenex, and a drink of water. I then sent her to her room for about 20 minutes to try and right some of the wrong in that Hoarder’s Lair. Because when everything seems out of control, sometimes a little order makes you feel better. She came out ready to face third hour and the day with her perspective lighter and her glasses on, probably because she found them.

It seemed like I talked for a long time about this and that, but all I really told her was this. Of course, they said it better.

There is nothing ordinary about access to God—yet sometimes we take this privilege for granted. He is almighty God, but He is also our Father who loves us and allows us to call on Him at any moment of any day. Now that’s extraordinary! —Bill Crowder

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb. 4:16).

Ask God for help. That’s it in a nutshell.

Come quickly Spring Break!

Sorry to read about Mousey’s little meltdown. You did what a good mom would do. Maybe Mousey’s could’ve used a trip to Costa Rica, too.
