Katie is getting on in years. She is starting to wander. Lately she has been wandering back by the creek, where the wild things are. Big dogs, muskrats, snapping turtles, whistle pigs. Like she is some sort of canine explorer.

It has been warm and dry around these parts of The Mitten. The creek is all but dry, but there is evidently a goodish amount of stinky black mud, and Katie went for a wallow. You can’t tell but her belly was all muddy, along with her dainty mud covered feets.

She ended her expedition with the humiliation of a bath.

I wonder if Lewis and Clark ever had to endure this fate?

Well, my curiosity is peaked. What in tarnation is a whistle pig and what is little Katie going to do if she catches one? I get the giggles just looking at the name.

A ground hog or woodchuck. She had quite an expensive encounter with a muskrat a few years ago. She has the small dog, Napoleon complex. She has the very worst combination; no fear and no brains!

I love her dainty paws covered in mud! Except if i were the one cleaning her up I wouldn’t feel so loving. 🙂

Methinks you should start keeping her on a leash, she could get carried off by a hawk back there!
