X Marks the Spot

The Ab-Cat had to make a themed basket for a raffle at work. The theme she chose was beach. Which was the theme she chose for last years raffle as well, which I find ironic because she does not enjoy the beach. She asked for some help, as she also does not enjoy shopping.

We went to our friendly neighborhood Homegoods because one has to start somewhere. There arose the beginnings of a theme. They provided the pirate beach towels, insulated whale glasses and the root beer. I am pretty sure rum would have been frowned upon. Then again, maybe not.

001

At least root beer gives the appearance of alcohol. Although no pirate worth his eye patch would be content with beer made from roots.

004

We then headed over to The Wal-Mart to pick up a cooler to keep the non-alcoholic beverages cool, along with whatever else pirates eat and might need to keep cold. We also threw in some Jolly “Roger” Ranchers and what pirate wouldn’t like some Chips Ahoy’s?

005

The Pirate’s Booty proved elusive. We finally hunted it down while Kroger-ing. I must say though, Pirate’s Booty is no treasure. It tastes like a cross between a weak Cheeto and a packing peanut.

003

I hope someone digs their raffle ticket out of their pocket for this pirate beach themed loot.

006

Drink up me ‘earties, yo ho.

Yep, I’m pretty sure real rum (methinks Capt. Morgan) would have brought in more money 🙂

Clever! Of course, I would expect no less from you. Hope you had fun. Seemed a bit like a treasure hunt, eh?

We would turn around and drive home from the beach if we didn’t have chips-ahoy…well played!

Should have thrown in some sunglasses with only one lens! Yes, very clever basket…
