A Day at the Lake

On Saturday we went out to my Dad’s house at the lake for some fireworks. The Boy had to work at his new/old janitor job (thank you Lord!), so Honey and I brought some girls. Mousey and Chip.

The Ab-Cat and her pup, Katie Katherine, not yet pictured.

Chip had not been before.

Beeve, Stacey and The Goomba were there as well, along with their friends, Dave, Joanna and their own goomba, Drew.

Joanna made the festive flag dessert, always a nice touch at a fireworks party!

Chip and Mousey played Pocahontas for a while.

They did very well, pulling together, going where they wanted to go, not tipping over. I give them credit, it was 102 degrees in the shade that day.

There had been a storm earlier in the week. Dad lost a tree. It got broke-ded.

Goomba Drew and our Little Goomba, who is barely little any more. They were down in Grandpa’s room watching a pirate move. Arghhh.

After a yummy supper, we headed out on Grandpa’s boat to catch the fireworks. It had finally cooled down, probably to a balmy 95 degrees.

The stern party. The Grandpa, Beeve, Mousey, Chip, Goomba, Drew, Joanna and Stacey.

The aft party. I am pretty sure that is right if I remember my Titanic correctly.

The Ab-Cat with Honey and Kate.

Capri Kel and Dave.

Mousey and Chip hung out in the very back. Is that the poop deck? What is the poop deck? I can vouch that there was no such thing going on back there. I find it ironic that Mousey’s shirt says Grand Valley, where she is not going to college and does not play volleyball, but where Chip IS heading in the fall. To also NOT play volleyball.

Honey with his grand dog. Katie loves the boat. The smells, the wind in her hair. She almost jumped into the lake before boarding. She was chasing frogs. It’s a good thing she didn’t make it, no one would have held a wet, stinky dog all night and she would have lost her comfy laps.

As you can see, she clearly loves the fireworks. She is nearly deaf now. She really just likes to nap on the boat.

The Boys were READY!

Goomba parked it next to Abby. They were talking. The last thing he said was, “that one is not so big”, and the next thing we knew?

Out like a light, in the middle of the show.

Abby has the touch, she is comfortable!

Chip was feeling her very long day. She had been up since 6. Of course Mousey had only been up since the crack of noon.

More stern

It’s a good thing they changed him into his jammies before we left.

Thanks Grandpa for The Fireworks of 2012!

Had to go back and look at the shirt…yes its awesome. And I agree with Joyce too, the narration is superbly Kel, being herself…which we all love!
