The Renewing of a Vow

I believe i mentioned that we were doing something very, very special last Friday! We went to our dear friends The Hostler’s vow renewal ceremony! They were married thirty years ago and for their anniversary they decided to do it all over again, in a BIG way!

There were many highlights of the evening. This was by FAR the easiest time I have EVER had getting my People ready for an event! We all wore the exact same thing to this wedding as we did to The Boy and The Dane’s wedding! Piece of cake!

Honey and his Girls looked right nice!

I realize this is starting abruptly, but this is where my pictures started, so just jump in with me. The ceremony started with Jona-fin (he’s the best!) standing in front, waiting for his Girls. Which I am going to go out on a limb here and say that Jon has a lot of experience waiting for his Girls! As we can see, they have already joined him, along with their friend Adam, who was the marrying guy.

I need to say here that Rae Babe and Jona-fin have served for many years in many capacities as youth group leaders at their church. They held the ceremony in the youth area  called The Underground. They had many friends from this ministry in attendance. As elders (HA!) in this ministry, I would not hesitate to say that they have greatly influenced the many young people they have served along side for lo these many years! Christian character, family, personal relationship with God and people, and serving others, yes, those are all good describing words for this family of four.

Ok, back to the front. As you can see, Jon and Adam have been joined by the daughters, Nurse Lauren and Printing Autumn!

Rae Babe was escorted down the isle by her loverly parents, Pete and Dixie.

The Bride and Groom!

Their Darling Daughters sang a song for them, scripture was read, words were spoken, vows renewed, blessings were given,

and tears were shed in celebration of thirty years of love, devotion, family and memories.

After the ceremony the evening was just beginning! Mr and Mrs Hostler….again!!

Worship Leader Lauren and Put a Ring on it Autumn

Dancers Extraordinaire, Dixie and Pate!!!

There were kind words from friends and their daughters, a video of Jon and Rae’s love story, a slideshow (I know that is not what they are called these days but work with me here) of pictures through the years, which was one of my favorite parts of the evening. They should have called it Hair Through The Ages!!!

There was cake!

There seemed to be some deliberation and warnings to not smash!

And a wedding dance for the Newlyweds.

I LOVED watching Rachel’s parents dance! I can remember her telling me through the years that her parents loved to dance. What a pleasure to see them in action!!

Especially the Electric Slide!!!

This was another line type dance that I thoroughly enjoyed watching!

Dancing Lauren with her Grandfather.

This is how these guys danced the majority of time, in a tight knot!!! I think they were all out there for Beyonce.

It was so fun to celebrate with friends.

Being silly, the way we especially love our Hostlers!

Their family motto is “Not somehow, but TRIUMPHANTLY!!!!”. Thank you Hostler’s for a TRIUMPHANT evening celebrating your marriage, your family and the God who has woven you so tightly together

Here’s to the next thirty!!!

What a wonderful way to celebrate a milestone. I’m wondering if they had a big wedding the first time around?

How fun! Congratulations to the ‘newlystillweds’ : ) I have good friends who just renewed their vows in the Caribbean, and it looked so pretty. We celebrate 30 this summer, and we’re still trying to figure out a plan. We have some events to work around so its gotten quite tricky.

We had a medium wedding first time around! 125 or so guests. This was smaller — more intimate — 60 or so people total. I’m so glad that we did it and it was better than I even imagined that it would be. Kel: thanks so much for posting the pictures — I stole and saved them all! Hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating with us! We love you all! ❤
